Recital of the Pledge:  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Denny Hahn. Present was Council Members Rick Allison, Jeremy Scheetz, Tim Carter, Dave Tennant and Cindy Swinehart. Lisa Kauffman was absent. Also present were Street Commissioner Brian Rippeth, Michael Hammond of WKLM.


Approval of the previous meeting minutes was given changes with a motion by Tim Carter; Dave Tennant second.  All others approved.



Citizen’s Comments / Visitors



Old Business

Council President Rick Allison reported that the houses that were demolished are complete and they are filling the basements.



Council Member Dave Tennant reported that the Pizza Parlor's drive through is up and running and is doing well.


Ordinances & Resolutions

Ordinance 2013-01 Annual Appropriations

Amended to increase Street Fund Rita Income line to 78,000 was given by Dave Tennant; second by Cindy Swinehart.  All others approved

Village Committees



New Business

Mayor Denny Hahn gave Council the 2013 list of committees for the Village.


Fiscal Officer Nyla Burick reported that software to read new water meters is needed and will cost $1443.80. A motion to purchase was given by Dave Tennant; second by Tim Carter.  All others approved. Also discussed is the need for a new computer.  Council asked that Nyla get quotes for the next meeting.


Council Member Cindy Swinehart reported that there will be a chili supper on February 9th from 11a.m. to 3p.m. It will be all you can eat for $5.00. This is to benefit the fire department.



Council Member Rick Allison reported that the  Brian has finished taking the trees down.  There are still some work to be done when the weather warms up as there are stumps etc. that will need taken care of.



Mayor Denny Hahn reported that he spoke with Randy Miller of Burgett's Insurance and that the insurance for the sewer plant is way under value.  Brian said that they already gave Randy what he needed and that it is taken care of.





Street Commissioner

Street Commissioner Brian Rippeth reported that he would like to purchase wings for the snow plow blade to help with the snow removal.  The cost is $196.43.  After some discussion, the Council suggested that Brian look into purchasing a set for the other plow that the Village purchased that fits the water/sewer departments equipment.  A motion for Brian to purchase the two sets up to 596.43 was given by Tim Carter; second by Dave Tennant.  All others approved.



Mayor Denny Hahn reported that the new water plant started up today but that it will take 6 to 12 months before residents see an improvement in their water as it will take this long to fully flush out all the lines.  If residents have old corroded pipes, they still might not see a great improvement. They have about 200 meters yet to install.

A motion was made by Dave Tennant and seconded by Cindy Swinehart for adjournment. All others approving.


The next council meeting will be Monday February 4th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.
