KILLBUCK VILLAGE COUNCIL

 

November 21st, 2011

Recital of the Pledge:  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Denny Hahn. Present were Rick Allison, Jeremy Scheetz, Lisa Kauffman, Tim Carter, and Dave Tennant. Heather Mackey was absent.

 

A motion to accept the previous minutes with corrections was given with a motion to accept by Dave Tennant; second by Tim Carter.  All others approved.

 

Citizen’s Comments / Visitors

None

 

Old Business

Council Member Rick Allison reported that the tree by the Methodist Church has one lower limb over the road that he and Brian could remove and remove some of the liability of ice and snow bringing it down on the street.

New Business

Mayor Denny Hahn reported that he received a letter from Heather Mackey stated that she has moved from the Village and must resign from Council. A motion to accept the resignation was given by Lisa Kauffman; second by Rick Allison.  All others approved. New Council members are needed. The Mayor knows of a couple of people who might be interested and he will check with them.

 

Council Member Lisa Kauffman reported that a donation was given from Early American Days of $250 for the park improvement fund.  A motion to accept the donation was given by Rick Allison; second by Dave Tennant.  All others approved.

 

Mayor Denny Hahn reported that he requested that Jeanette Weirbicki from Quicksaw attend tonight’s meeting to discuss the road project on 60 but was informed that she is no longer with them and tonight was not a good night for her replacement so no one will be here tonight.

 

Council Member Lisa Kauffman reported that the library had budgeted $1000 to start replacing the computers but Chad Troyer updated all two computers for under what was budgeted for one.  Also new books and releases are being purchased and the library is planning on having speakers on Thursday evenings.

 

Council Member Dave Tennant reported that he spoke with Toni Shreve and they would like to do a Spring Fling kind of thing to replace the Rock-N-the Park that fell through in the fall.  It would be at the VFW and hamburgers and fries would be served.

 

Council Member Rick Allison reported that we should start looking at a project for curbing and drainage of Main Street.  If we could do the curbing, drainage and widening of Main Street for a bike path then when ODOT repaves the street – which is on a 13 year repaving plan – then it would all be done at once.

 

Breakfast with Santa will be December 3rd from 9 to 11 at the VFW.

 

Fiscal Officer Nyla Burick requested Council pay for transferring of Killbuck data from her old computer to her new computer.  A motion to do so was given by Rick Allison; second by Tin Carter.  All others approved.

 

 

Park

Council Member Rick Allison reported that the drainage line is done. And the railroad ties will be replaced with jumbo blocks.

 

Mayor Denny Hahn reported that the tree lighting will be held December 11th at 5:00 p.m. at the Park.

                                            Street Commissioner

Street Commissioner Brian Rippeth reported that there have been major issues with the leaf vac.  Even after replacing rods it still needed to be taken to Charm Engine and a new head was installed.

A motion to adjourn was given by Dave Tennant; second Jeremy Scheetz. All others approved.
