KILLBUCK VILLAGE COUNCIL
December 19th, 2011Recital of the Pledge: The meeting was called to order by Mayor Denny Hahn. Present were Rick Allison, Jeremy Scheetz, Lisa Kauffman, Tim Carter and Dave Tennant. Also present was resident Cindy Swinehart and Street Commissioner Brian Rippeth.
A motion to accept the previous minutes with corrections was given with a motion to accept by Tim Carter; second by Lisa Kauffman. Dave Tennant abstained. All others approved.
Citizen’s Comments / VisitorsResident Cindy Swinehart was present to show her interest in one of the two vacant seats on Village Council. She lives on Spring Street and is an EMT. Old BusinessThe Mayor reported that he spoke with Arnie Oliver of the Planning Commission and the grant that he was trying to get to add on to the raising of the height of the route 60 bridge project has gone to the next round and that we could still use it on raising the road as you come into town on N. Main Street at Elm Street and Roosevelt Street instead of route 60.
Also discussed was the water pumping of John Galley on South Water Street. He currently pumps to the road and it is causing a problem with the road. A catch basin could be put in so he could pump directly into.
Council Member Lisa Kauffman reported that the Tree Lighting on December 11th in the Village Park went well.

New BusinessCouncil Member Lisa Kauffman reported that the bank was donating a 200.00 dollar check to the park savings account. A motion to accept was given by Rick Allison; second by Dave Tennant. All others approved.
Council Member Dave Tennant suggested that a Christmas Light contest be done next year to encourage residents to put up lights with a prize for the winner.
Council Member Rick Allison inquired about the time setting for the Christmas tree lights in the Park. Street Commissioner Brian Rippeth reported that the timer is set to come on around 5:00 p.m. and go off at around 8:00 a.m.
Council Member Lisa Kauffman reported that Kyle Beechy may be interested in one of the empty Council seats.
ParkCouncil Member Rick Allison reported that three yards of concrete was poured by Brian at the south end of the dugout at the catch basin. Three more yards will probably be needed for the steps. This will most likely happen in the spring.
MayorThe Mayor requested Brian Rippeth be reappointed as Street Commissioner. A motion to reappoint Brian Rippeth as Street Commissioner was give by Rick Allison; second by Lisa Kauffman. All others approved.
Street CommissionerStreet Commissioner Brian Rippeth reported there was a sink hole on North Main Street at the storm basin. It is repaired but will need some additional work.
