Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on September 4, 2024 commencing at 7:00 PM with Mayor Allison presiding.

Keith Mohler took the oath of office for the vacant council seat.

Guests:

Mark Hiner: 95th State Rep candidate for the November election. Wanted to come and introduce himself to the council and what he would like to work on.

Approval of Previous Minutes:

Discussion: August 15 minutes will have to be approved at the next council meeting due to no quorum.

Street Report:

Representative’s Name: Steve Patterson

Discussion: Street sweeper did not show up. Called Andrew at Melway Paving and he will call back to schedule. Painting of the curbs will be done as soon as possible. The trash cans for Early American Days did not work well. Discussed bringing the totes from the park downtown. Will discuss with the CIC at a later date. 7 new Veteran’s banners to be put up. Going to be working on a sinkhole on Water Street. Melway Paving will be here at the end of the month for the Grant Street project. Fall cleanup is scheduled for October 18-20.

Park Report:

Representative’s Name: Rick Allison

Discussion: Fall league continues to the end of the month. The Rhino tournament went well over Labor Day weekend. The Hometown Heroes tournament this coming weekend has 5 teams signed up. The Brian Rippeth tournament is September 21. Park board met last week. The spouting is on the building. Soccer got a shed from Larry Moore that they will be placing at the park for their storage. Micah is finishing up the memorial. Going to do one treatment on the soccer field from Davidson Lawn Service.

 Reviewed Millersburg Ordinance 1319 concerning nuisance properties.  Olivia will continue to work on it and invite Nat and or Chad to a council meeting.

Once Linda gets the invoice for the new banners we will adjust the fee.

Rick talked to Tom Stringfellow concerning getting a bench in memory of Scott Kashuba to be placed at the fire department.

Early American Days went well. The committee is going to work on several new improvements.

The electric box at the pole by the theater needs to be replaced. Cindy Miller made a motion to get Derwin Clemens to do the work, Erica Ash seconded, with all others approving.
