Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on October 2, 2024 commencing at 7:30 PM with Mayor Allison presiding.

Guests:
Julie Kick-Miller came to address some issues on Water Street. It was brought to her attention that someone has been putting trash in the little blue house she owns. That is to be torn down in the very near future. She came down today and removed all the trash/debris and will keep an eye on the property. She has several concerns of the neighboring property with trash/debris and people living in campers and that the activity there is concerning. After some discussion, Linda will contact Tim Stryker and address the issues. Council will keep an eye on the properties moving forward.
Melissa Biltz and her troop came to observe a public meeting and let the council know that they are available for community projects within the village. She has a member that is working on her Eagle Scout project and would like to build bat houses. That member was not present to present her project and will return to a future meeting.

Street Report:
Representative’s Name: Steve Patterson
Discussion: The dumpsters will be at the park October 17-20. Grant Street is completed. Hopefully he will be painting curbs etc next week. Leaf pickup is tentatively to start the week of October 21. Called in 7 street lights. Melissa Biltz stated that if dumping the leaves is an issue we could use her farm outside of Killbuck.
Park Report:
Representative’s Name: Rick Allison
Discussion: Spoke to Chas Morris and he said he will do the concrete work we have at the park. Rick will continue to work on this. Holmes Redimix will donate the trucking for the pea gravel. Maple Valley Fence needs to come back and finish the 1st baseline and the backstop. Benches are placed on the patio. The Brian Rippeth Memorial tournament raised $1,700.00.

Prior Business:
Spoke with Tim Stryker concerning several issues within the village. Once we have the nuisance ordinance adopted his office will proceed with issuing citations on the properties. Still need to work on items for the time capsule. The Christmas party is scheduled for December 16 at the Pizza Parlor at 6:00 PM. Still working on the bench in Memory of Scott Kashuba.
New Business:
Discussion: Meeting dates, Ted Thorpe brought up that remembering the meeting dates is confusing and felt it would be simpler if they were on the same day of the week. After some discussion Ted Thorpe made a motion to move the meeting dates to the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month commencing at 7:00 PM, Lisa Kauffman seconded, with all others approving, motion carried.
