AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A ONE-TIME PERFORMANCE BONUS FOR CERTAIN VILLAGE EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY 

WHEREAS, Village employees Linda Campbell (Fiscal Officer), Steven Patterson (Street Commissioner), Michael Judson (Water & Sewer Superintendent), and Jimmy Britt (Assistant- Street Commissioner & Water/Sewer) (collectively, the “Employees”) have performed their duties in an exemplary manner and have taken great efforts to keep the Village of Killbuck a great place to live, work, and play; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the continued dedicated service of the Village Employees for the year 2024. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Village of Killbuck, Holmes County, Ohio:

SECTION 1. It is in the Village’s best interest to recognize the continued efforts of the Employees during the 2024 calendar year and to enhance retention for future years. 

SECTION 2. One-time performance bonuses of 3.5% of the Employees’ base pay for 2024 are authorized as follows:

  • One-time performance bonus in the amount of $1,969.63 for Linda Campbell (Fiscal Officer)
  • One-time performance bonus in the amount of $2,311.40 for Michael Judson (Water & Sewer Superintendent) 
  • One-time performance bonus in the amount of $1,842.57 for Steven Patterson (Street Commissioner)
  • One-time performance bonus in the amount of $380.63 for Jimmy Britt (Assistant- Street Commissioner & Water/Sewer)

SECTION 3. The one-time performance bonuses specified in Section 2 of this Ordinance shall be paid on or before December 26, 2024. 

SECTION 4. It is hereby found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, such emergency arising from the need to allow adequate time to process the bonus payments on or prior to December 26, 2024. Accordingly, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
