Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on June 21, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the Village Hall 138 S Main Street Killbuck, OH 44637 with Rick Allison presiding. Denny Hahn absent.

Motion to approve minutes of the regular session on June 21, 2021 with corrections, addition of Paula Ciccionti from the Holmes County Library was made by Gary Wagers and seconded by Travis Scott.

Discussion: Graded the alleys last week. Sprayed for mosquitos on 6/30/21.

Discussion: The flag pole lighting project is complete.  Scoreboards still have not been installed, waiting for Paul’s truck.  The Kauffman softball tournament is this Saturday, Paul Laney the end of the month and the Rhino is August 7th & 8th.  Fall league will start July 28th, meeting to be held July 14th. Girls softball is using the new fields.  Soccer will be starting by the end of the month.  The area churches will be using the park on Wednesday nights for youth night.  Steve getting the press-boxes painted.

Discussion: Just working on flushing hydrants.

Solicitor Report:

Representative’s Name: Julie Dreher

Discussion:  Reviewed the voting ballot of the Purdue bankruptcy case. In summary council would be agreeing to the terms of the bankruptcy of monies begin set aside in a trust for local governments to file claim if they had cost incurred due to the opioid epidemic.   Ted Thorpe made a motion to accept the Purdue Pharma Chapter 11 plan, Travis Scott seconded, with all others approving, motion carried. Julie will complete the voting ballot online. Received the 2021 Ohio basic code.  Julie will work on the title 17 codes to be added for the village. Farner property is getting closer will stay in contact with Miller, Mast & Mason, hopefully will have

Discussion: Still working with Rob on getting the necessary documents and information.  Still need photos of council members and BPA members.er of Cadenza Media.  Started working on the information and documents needed to proceed.

New Business:

Topic: Mullet Drive
Presented By: Ted Thorpe

Discussion: There is a lot of runoff that comes from Mullet Drive and there is nowhere for the water to drain to. Rick Allison stated that there are not any storm sewers until you get down across Main Street. This is a project to look into grant funding for in the future.

Topic: Splash pad or something similar at the park

Discussion: Will look into this in the future. Depending on cost.

Topic: Letter of Support for Killbuck Creek Accessibility and Hydraulic Flow Improvement Project

Discussion: Linda was approached by Michele Wood concerning the project to remove the log jams from Millersburg to Killbuck and would like a letter of support for the grant application. Rick Allison made a motion to submit a letter of support, Gary Wagers seconded, with all others approving, motion carried.
