Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on July 18, 2024 commencing at 7:00 PM with Mayor Allison presiding.

Guests:
Gary Chanay- He came to voice some concerns about the bike/street widening project. His main concern is the removal of trees and the bike path only being on one side of the street and if it is going to be wide enough for the bikes to travel on going both ways.
Cheryl Schlachter- Had several questions and or concerns of the new bike/street widening project. She is not in favor of taking down the trees. She presented council with an overview from Roberts pass trailhead and feels that something like this would be a better project for the village.
Also present: Brandon Macky, Damon Harris and Dorothy.

Will have the streets swept in August. Have sprayed mosquitoes twice.
Park Report:
Representative’s Name: Rick Allison
Discussion: The ODNR grant round 30 was announced and the amount is $22,000.00, with a filing deadline of August 15. We have previously discussed applying for a pickleball court. Linda spoke with Katie form Quicksall and her thoughts were since we are not further with the playground grant we should wait until that is completed to apply. Fall league is starting at the end of the month.
September 7 will be the softball fundraising tournament for the Hometown Heroes and September 21 is the Brian Rippeth, memorial tournament.

Representative’s Name: Olivia Biltz
Had a case management conference with the Killbuck Watershed Trust concerning quiet title action. Agreed to file joint motion with the seven other complainants.
The Quick Claim Deed for Marty Strackey was sent to the tax map for approval. Still working on trailer ordinance.

Discussion: The Nature Work’s playground Equipment grant. Tyler and Erica are still working on footprint.
Leonard Moore property. Dick drove up by 303 E Grover St and he feels that the lower tree still needs to be removed, for visibility. this discussion is tabled
All council members agreed to advertise the job opening in the Bargain Hunter for further applicants.
Once we receive the new invoice for the banners, we need to consider reducing the price.

Dick Patterson gave his resignation from council effective 7/18/2024, for personal reasons.
Lisa Kauffman accepted his resignation, Tyler McCombs seconded, with all others approving, motion carried.

Erica discussed needing a certified electrician to set up the electrical service for the Early American Days festival. Council gave a few suggestions. She will contact them.
Lisa Kauffman read a letter from Daniel Baird, thanking the scholarship fund for his scholarship.
