Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on June 20, 2024 commencing at 7:00 PM with Mayor Allison presiding.

Came to voice their concerns of entering and or exiting the trailer park due to the obstruction of view caused by the trees on the property at 303 E Grover Street. The Mayor stated to them that the council have been actively working with the property owner and he is aware that the trees need to be removed. After some further discussion Ted Thorpe made a motion to remove the trees that the Mayor and the Street Commissioner feel are obstruction the view, Dick Patterson seconded, with all others approving, motion carried.

Discussion: Reviewed the estimates submitted by Kingsway in the amount of $20,500.00 and Melway Paving in the amount of $19,300.00. After some discussion concerning the scope of work. Ted Thorpe made a motion to go with Melway Paving, Lisa Kauffman seconded, with all others approving, motion carried.

Park Report:

Representative’s Name: Rick Allison

Discussion:The 12U little league tournament will be held in Killbuck. There were 8 teams for the Kauffman tournament. The fall league will start the last week of July. There are benefit tournaments scheduled for the weekend of July 5 and 12. The Paul Laney tournament will be held the last weekend in July. Micha Martin gave a verbal quote of $1,200.00 for the pergola. The playground grant was tabled, the quotes came back higher so they need to reconfigure the layout.

Sewer / Water Report:

Representative’s Name: Rick Allison, Linda Campbell

The software program used is going to be phased out. Linda will be getting with CUSI concerning the conversion.

Solicitor Report:

Representative’s Name: Olivia Biltz

There are no updates on the quiet title action, the hearing that was scheduled for June 13 got pushed back. Sent information to the trailer committee concerning the information she compiled and will review their recommendations and keep working on the revision. Still working on incorporating something concerning tents within the village. The documents that she has researched do not give specifics on tents.

Discussion: Ted Thorpe brought up his concerns on Mullet Drive and the runoff that it creates and wants it to be on councils radar to think of some solutions.
