AN ORDINANCE TO MODIFY LEGAL COUNSEL AGREEMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, Attorney Julie Dreher was appointed as Solicitor for the Village of Killbuck for the period ending May 19, 2024;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the agreement between the Village and Attorney Dreher, Attorney Dreher’s appointment as the Village Solicitor will terminate on January 17, 2024, when Attorney Olivia R. Mirich will begin her appointment as the Village Solicitor; and
WHEREAS, the Village desires Attorney Dreher to be available to the Village and Attorney Mirich for consultation on legal matters for the Village during the period January 17, 2024 through January 24, 2024.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Killbuck, State of Ohio:
Section 1. Attorney Dreher’s appointment as the Village Solicitor will terminate on January 17, 2024.
Section 2. Village officials may utilize Attorney Dreher for consultation on legal matters for the Village during the period January 17, 2024 through January 24, 2024. Attorney Dreher shall be compensated by the Village at the rate of $150.00 per hour for consulting services provided to the Village.
Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare. The reason for such necessity is that this Ordinance is necessary to comply with Ohio law, including Revised Code Section 733.48. Therefore, this Ordinance shall be effective immediately, upon proper passage by Council.
