Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on September 20, 2023 at 7:02 pm in the Village Hall 138 S Main Street Killbuck, OH 44637 with Rick Allison presiding.

Jeremy Hinte with OMH group explained and reviewed the plans for the downtown bike path and revitalizations that will be submitted with the AARP grant.  The biggest obstacle is that the design plan needs to be completed by September 2024 and construction completed by September 2026. The Mayor and council are pleased and excited for the grant submission.

Street Report:

Representative’s Name: Steve Patterson

Discussion: The dumpsters will be at the park October 19th to the 22nd. Painting is almost complete, but still needs to be finished by Jeremy Lamp’s garage. Met with Kingsway concerning milling and filling in various locations within the village, they will get an estimate. Working on getting estimates for the Grant Street project. Ted Thorpe informed Steve that there is a broken cover on the vacant lot behind the bank, Steve will go look at it. Inquired if the council wanted to move forward with ordering the snowflakes. After some discussion and reviewing the catalogs we had, Erica volunteered to research to find a better price and will forward what she finds.

Ted Thorpe made a motion to purchase 10 snowflakes not to exceed $703.00 per item, Dick Patterson seconded, motion carried.

Park Report:

Representative’s Name: Rick Allison

Discussion: The Brian Rippeth memorial softball tournament went very well and they donated 5,000.00 to the park. Gavin Sheldon is holding a tournament on September 30th to benefit the park as well. The Skylar Anderson tournament will be October 14th. Fall league will be done next week. Ordered two more benches for the flagpole area, one for the Bob Bell family and one for those who have served. Steve inquired about having someone professional trim the scrubs at the park. Someone mentioned Micah Martin.

Sewer / Water Report:

Discussion: Still working on the web portal. Everything with Spectrum appears to be updated and we are ready for the portal set up, scheduled for October 16th.

Discussion:  We have not heard anything from her but the Mayor stated that today at the Planning Commission meeting it sounds like there might be another round of money for demo.

Discussion: PTO wants to do a Halloween parade on Oct 31. Council gives their blessing and if there is anything they need us to do to let us know.
