Killbuck Village Council met in regular session on September 21, 2022 at 7:00 pm in the Village Hall 138 S Main Street Killbuck, OH 44637 with Rick Allison presiding.

Street Report:

Representative’s Name: Steve Patterson

Discussion: Worked on fixing potholes 2 tons of hot patch. Hopefully to start painting the crosswalks and curbs. Checking on availability of street sweeper. Fall clean up is October 20-24 dumpsters will be delivered Thursday. Presented council with an estimate for an addition to the street garage in the amount of $121,960.00. Steve will check on flags with the VFW.

Park Report:

Representative’s Name: Rick Allison

Discussion: The Brian Rippeth memorial softball tournament is this weekend. Received an estimate for a 24×24 pavilion between fields 2 & 3 in the amount of 5,000.00, KSB donated 500.00 for this project and there is some funds left from the Bob Bell donation for the flag pole. Will check for other donations from Holmes Redimix and HRC construction will donate the labor. Dedication of field 2 in memory of Rick Day took place over Labor day weekend. Sign for the park for Dave and Donna Shreiner “Shreiner Family” will check with Heritage Signs. Flag football started at the park. Girls softball started. Tree was taken down due to damage from storm.

Darryl Miller made a motion to get new meter reader gun in the amount of $1,850.00 Troy Majzer seconded, motion carried.

Citizens Comments & Guest:

Steve Hamit and Erin Wright introduced themselves and reviewed the three projects that they are working on with Mike. The loop project at the school. EPA regulations of all water lines be replaced to 4 in due to fire protection, we have approx 5000 feet to be replaced and new valves, hydrants and service lines. A loop to tie into the industrial park. After some discussion concerning these projects and moving forward with applying for various grants.

Cindy Miller made a motion to advertise for RFQ for engineering firms for said projects, Ted Thorpe seconded, with all others approving, motion carried.

Topic: AEP and LED Lights

Discussion: Met with AEP rep Jina Duplain and AEP is going to LED’s with some added features example, self reporting when not working. Will continue to work with her on getting security lights in alleys.

Topic: CIC Loan

Discussion: Julie sent a letter to Mr. Mays informing him that he did not qualify for the loan per the Revolving Loan criteria. Linda Campbell informed Linda Wilcox of the CIC board.
